As Star Wars Episode VII rumors spread today, we step in to set the record straight and offer up a reality check to fans who still expect these new films to simply adapt the already existing EU novels. We got Book of the Sith: Secrets from the Dark Side that Throughout the ERC you can see how certain books managed to retcon various continuity discrepancies over the years, such as how The Krytos Trap fixed an issue between Dark Empire and the original Star Wars newspaper comic strips. I was spoiled regarding the villain of Star Trek Into Darkness months before that movie opened, but I hope that the combined efforts of Disney, Lucasfilm, Ardnt, and Abrams will keep too many details from the new trilogy from being leaked. And I'm not prone to buying multiple versions of the same comic just for collection's sake. Now, I've read the Dark Empire storyline before. Also scattered throughout the ERC are various spotlight on other Expanded Universe material. There are some other ways to go but this made the most sense for a new trilogy involving all the older characters.
